FAQ

Is Precision Massage treatment covered by insurance?
No. PNMT isn’t covered by insurance but our treatment sessions are often less than the cost of a co-pay. (Click the “Book Now” link for services and pricing.) The good news is that since you’re not using your insurance, no one but you decides how many appointments you can make. While physical therapists must discharge a patient when progress comes to a standstill, we can treat you until you are completely well. You take control of your health because the decision is up to you.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
Many of our clients come to us on the recommendation of a doctor or physical therapist. But you do not need a physician’s referral to book an appointment.
What makes PNMT different from other therapies and massage techniques?

Precision Neuromuscular Therapy (PNMT) is a unique approach to soft tissue pain relief. What sets it apart from every other treatment approach is its thorough evaluation and targeted treatment. A very specific evaluation uncovers the exact cause of each client’s individual pain. For example, of the 10+ reasons that cause pain at the knee, we can identify which of those reasons is your reason. We can isolate which muscle, tendon, ligament, nerve or connective tissue is at play. Then we provide very precise, hands-on treatment to that exact tissue.

The 2 components of actually identifying the problem and applying skilled work form a powerful combination that produces stellar results! What’s more, because the treatment is tailored to the exact problem, this work can have you back in the game much faster!

Precision Massage offers this skilled PNMT treatment in the St. Louis area. All of our licensed massage therapists are certified in PNMT, and all also come from medical backgrounds before massage. Their level of skill and knowledge is unmatched. When receiving PNMT for the first time, it is not unusual for a patient to say, “that’s my exact pain”, or, “why hasn’t any one else ever been able to figure this out?” We get our clients back to their best form, and back on track with their sport or workouts fast.

Do I have to undress to receive Precision Neuromuscular Therapy (PNMT) treatments?
No. Most patients wear a tank top and shorts to receive PNMT treatment.
What form of payment is accepted?
Precision Massage accepts cash, checks and all major credit cards.
I have had neuromuscular therapy before. How does PNMT treatment differ from what I’ve already had?
It is the difference between just “rubbing where it hurts” and treating the cause of the pain. This is accomplished in 2 major ways. First, PNMT starts with a detailed evaluation, which identifies the exact problem each client presents with. Secondly, PNMT therapists’ vast training and education allows them to treat the identified problem structures/areas with the utmost precision. The combination of thorough evaluation and focused treatment produces a much higher effectiveness than general neuromuscular therapies.
Is tipping customary for massage therapy at Precision Massage?
We charge what we expect to be compensated. Gratuity is not expected, but is appreciated as a way of saying that you feel we exceeded your expectations.
